📢 The short version (FTC required):
CloudDeals is a participant in affiliate programs including the Cloudways affiliate program (direct) and ShareASale network. When you click a link on this site and make a qualifying purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. This is how we keep the site free.
1. What is an affiliate link?
An affiliate link is a special tracking URL that tells the merchant we referred you. Example:
https://www.cloudways.com/en/?id=98241 — the id=98241 parameter is our unique affiliate ID.
If you visit a merchant through our link and make a purchase within the cookie window (typically 60–90 days), the merchant pays us a small percentage of the sale.
2. Our affiliate partners
We currently participate in these affiliate programs:
| Merchant | Network | Cookie window |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudways | Direct (Impact / in-house) | 90 days |
| Cloudways (Free Trial) | ShareASale | 60 days |
We may add other relevant managed-hosting affiliate programs in the future. We will update this page within 30 days of any new partnership.
3. How we get paid
Commissions vary by merchant and plan. Typical rates for Cloudways:
- Slab-based commission (more sign-ups = higher per-sale payout)
- Hybrid commission ($30 + 7% lifetime recurring)
- Free trial sign-ups: small fixed bounty
Payments are made monthly by the affiliate networks once thresholds are met.
4. Does it cost you anything extra?
No. The price you pay is identical whether or not you click our link. The merchant simply allocates a portion of their existing marketing budget to us instead of paying a non-affiliate.
In many cases, our coupon code (BFCM5050) actually saves you more than you would pay going direct — because our affiliate status grants exclusive promo codes.
5. Editorial independence
This is the most important part. We do not write positive reviews in exchange for higher commissions.
- We test products independently for at least 30 days before reviewing
- Our content covers cons as well as pros — read our Cloudways Review
- We refuse paid placements disguised as editorial
- If a product is bad, we will say so — even if we lose commission
- Star ratings and rankings are based on tested performance, not commission size
Our job is to help you save money and avoid bad hosting decisions. If we mislead you, you lose trust, and we lose readers. Our incentives are aligned.
6. How to identify affiliate links
We make it easy:
- Every affiliate link uses HTML attribute
rel="sponsored nofollow noopener noreferrer"per Google's guidelines and FTC best practices - The destination domain is always visible on hover (we never hide redirects through
bit.lyor shorteners) - We label CTAs clearly ("Get Deal", "Claim", "Get 50% OFF") rather than disguising them as editorial links
- Pages that contain affiliate links display the disclosure banner at the top and link to this page in the footer
7. How to opt out
You can avoid contributing affiliate revenue by:
- Visiting Cloudways directly at
cloudways.cominstead of clicking our links (you will lose access to our exclusive coupon though!) - Using browser extensions that strip affiliate parameters (e.g. uBlock Origin)
- Clearing your cookies before completing the purchase
We won't be offended — we'd rather you trust the content than feel pressured.
8. FTC & international compliance
This disclosure is provided in compliance with the United States Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255), the UK ASA CAP Code, and the EU Unfair Commercial Practices Directive.
If you reside in a jurisdiction with stricter disclosure rules and you believe this notice is insufficient, please contact us — we want to be compliant globally.
